Jed is sent to rescue a widowed boarding house keeper but he ends up married to someone totally different.

I don't read as many historicals as I use to.  But I do read Stacey Kayne.  they are lovely romantic books.  Well worth reading.

Mountain Wild by Stacey Kayne

Maggie has lived as a recluse for years in the mountains but has always wondered about Garret from afar.  Being snowbound she will find out.

Really nice story.  Read in one afternoon and well worth the read.

In this section some of my friends that read historical will be doing some of the reviews for me.

The Brazen Bride - Stephanie Laurens

The third in the "Black Cobra Quartet" (the first two being The Elusive Bride & The Untamed Bride).  Four ex-army friends resign from the East India Company after the death of another friend.  To avenge his death they must return to England with information about the English leaders of the murderous Black Cobra cult.  Each chooses a different route.  Logan Monteith's leads him via a shipwreck, to Linnet Trevissian's Guernsey estate.  The attraction is swift and mutual.  But Logan has a message deliver.  Soon the chase is on.

The book beneifts from having a strong, independent heroine who runs her own estate and captains her own ship.  Logan is an attractive sexy hero who manages to accept Linnet's unconventional life has made her.  The story is strong enough to withstand the cliche of traumatic amnesia.

Bev has enjoyed all 3 books and eagerly awaits the fourth (The Reckless Bride) later this year
